Until now, the link has attempted to display all details of my working database
in a pdf file. This has proved to be beyond the capabilities of the server, and
only 49 pages of more than 5000 have been available.
I have now changed the aim of this section, while keeping the pdf format.
The file shows all 5200 records in order of their blazon, thus giving a crude
ordinary of the arms which appear in the Rolls of Arms section of the site.
In passing, I should mention that it is a large file of more than 400 pages and
may take some time to download.
It is, for time being, very much in the experimental stage.
The data includes the number of the record in my database, which is of course no
use to the viewer, and will be removed; the bearer's name; the English blazon in
alphabetical order; the origianl drawing of the arms; and the illustration from
Foster, where applicable.
It is obvious that references to the rolls in which the arms are found are
vital, and I am working on including them.
I hope that the consequent increase in size will not affect the display.
In the meantime, I would be grateful for comments and suggestions, since my work
may be thought to be more useful in other sections of the site.

After a long period of stagnation, the publication of Part 10 of the Lord Marshal's Roll. I have stated that there will be 11 parts to this roll; the correct number is 12.
It has been pointed out that the the Database A List of the Arms in order of their Blazon, published 22nd June cannot be viewed accurately. I am working on the problem.

Publication of Part 5 of The Lord Marshal's Roll. At this point, all items from the original site have been recovered.
All future items will involve new work. There remain 315 coats of arms to complete the Lord Marshal's Roll. I shall publish these in pages of fifty coats, since there is a good deal of work to be done, including the text and the illustrations of the arms, and the entry of the information into the database, which I shall renew when the roll is completed.

While recovering files from my original site, Studies in Heraldry, I discovered more pages of Rolls of Arms, among which are Charles' Roll, Collin's Roll, The Dering Roll, The Heralds' Roll, The Lord Marshal's Roll, and from Europe, The Bigot Roll and The Chifflet-Prinet Roll. They all need reformatting to fit the present site, and I will publish them in instalments.

The new site is published. The following sections are complete: The Civic Heraldry of France, The Glossary and Rolls of Arms. For those pages which do not yet have links, the Search Panel on the Home Page works well. The site map option gives a list of all pages, each of which can be accessed, and there is also a helpful index of all key words on the site.
