The page entitled "A List of the Arms", which appeared in the original site, Studies in Heraldry, is unavailable. Because of the problems of reproducing a file which contains complex information on almost 5000 early coats of arms, I have published a PDF file taken from my original database. I do not believe that this is a satisfactory format for a web page, but at least the the information is again available.
Each of the arms in the database is listed in order of its blazon in English. There may be more than one spelling of the name of the bearer, depending on the rolls in which he appears. The illustrations of the arms are of my own design, and are not intended to represent an authentic medieval drawing. Each pair of boxes contains the name and number of a particular roll, and is filled when the when the bearer appears in that roll. Information on the seventeen rolls researched can be found in the page List of the Rolls.
The whole database as set out is searchable using the find facility.
The continuing project A Glossary of Terms Used in French Civic Heraldry has the same PDF format.
